The USS SLOCUM is on a routine naval patrol northwest of Bermuda when the SOS crackles over the radio. Cuban National Air's Flight Twelve is ditching in the Atlantic with eighty-nine passengers and five crew aboard. Commander H.P. Perry readies his ship for standard rescue operations - only to discover there's nothing standard about the survivors. Once aboard, they're more demanding than grateful, for most are Russian or Cuban nationals.
