Bertie Wooster's incessant strumming on the banjolele has provoked complaints from the occupants of the neighbouring flats, and the building manager has issued an ultimatum: chuck in the playing, or clear out. So the young master intends to withdraw - along with his faithful valet, of course - to a country cottage where he can twang the strings day and night. But Jeeves refuses to resign himself to such a cacophonous existence, and hands in his notice.
