When Captain Nathan Kelso has a falling-out with his commanding officer, Major Matthew Hackett, Company 'C' is unofficially disbanded - but not for long, with broncos and Apaches raising hell throughout the territory. Then a patrol under a green lieutenant is all but wiped out, and an incident involving two rabid coyotes results in Hackett being badly injured. When things go from bad to worse, Kelso must lead his men into the Santa Rita Mountains on a do-or-die mission that will see him and Company 'C' fighting - to the death!.
